Thank you to QVC for compensating me for this post!
With an effort to encourage “women supporting women”, QVC is celebrating International Women’s Day with the hashtag #dreamdaredo! There are so many of my favorite brands on QVC founded by female entrepreneurs and it is inspiring to know that women can achieve great things and make their dreams a reality. I will link a few of my favorite products below from female entrepreneurs available on QVC.com!
In honor of International Women’s Day and #dreamdaredo, QVC has asked me to tell my story about how I started my blog and made it into a business! I hope you enjoy!
Even before wearing hijab, I was always interested in fashion and loved putting outfits together and dressing stylishly! When I started wearing hijab after graduating high school at 18, I knew I wanted to continue expressing my love for fashion in order to boost my confidence while dressing modestly. I started posting my daily outfits on my personal Instagram account and quickly found that there were other hijabi fashionistas on social media who were encouraging young girls like me to wear hijab! Soon, other hijabis from around the world started following me and I started getting questions about my clothes and daily life as a nursing student. I found the need to start a blog to share my journey with wearing hijab and my advice for staying confident and stylish along the way!
I saved up for a DSLR camera in order for my photos to look more professional and continued sharing what I loved on my social media and blog while going through nursing school. After a year of blogging, I finally reached out to a small jewelry boutique online, which was the first company that I would ever work with! Although I did not get paid, I was so excited to share something that I loved with my audience. Something that I learned from that moment was if I wanted something, all I needed to do was ask. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to me, I needed to get over my fear of rejection and pursue the things that I wanted, whether it be with blogging or anything else in my life!
I hope this inspires you to pursue your dreams, stay persistent and anything is possible!
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY DONATION MESSAGE: In honor of International Women’s Day, QVC® and participating vendors will donate a minimum of $250,000 to benefit Nest, a global nonprofit committed to the social and economic advancement of women by supporting female artisans who might not have the resources they need to flourish.

Ahh I love this and your new site! I was so excited when I found you on IG, it was refreshing to find someone with a similar sense of style. I too started blogging just for the love of it and now I am happy to say because of the empowerment of women I was able to run my lifestyle business @karamabyhoda for the past 5 years.
Never stop doing what you love!
