We just got back from Cabo and we had such an amazing and relaxing vacation! This was our second time to Los Cabos and we decided that it will be our go-to getaway from now on because it is not far from home, has amazing food, great service, and the scenery is so beautiful! Cabo is only a 2.5 hour flight from Dallas, so it was so nice to come back from vacation feeling refreshed instead of jet lagged! I thought I would put together a travel guide since I have gotten so many questions about our trip! If you’re thinking about going to Cabo I hope this is helpful for you!
Where to Stay:
Viceroy Los Cabos: We stayed at the Viceroy and absolutely loved it! We will definitely be back! It is a very minimal and modern resort (which I love) and the FOOD you guys! So good. It is not an all-inclusive resort, but the breakfast is included and it is off the menu and you can order as much as you want! We always started with a big plate of fruit and coffee and ended with gluten free pancakes! The Viceroy is located in San Jose del Cabo, which is only about 15 minutes from the airport. It is far enough away from the party scene of Cabo San Lucas, but close enough to all the restaurants so we loved the location! If you want something even more secluded, check out the resorts in Puerto Los Cabos. It is even further from the main town and is very quiet and relaxing! We stayed at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos last time. It is an all-inclusive hotel (the food was what you would expect from an all inclusive), but we loved that it was adult-only and the property was so green and beautiful!

How to Get Around:
Uber: The best way to get around Cabo is definitely Uber! Our hotel assured us it was the safest and cheapest way to get around Cabo! It was very convenient and we never had problems finding an Uber in any area we were in. I had pre-arranged airport transportation with All Ways Cabo just for convenience and more space for luggage etc. but I’m sure using Uber for airport transfer would be fine as well.
Where to Eat:
Acre: Acre is one of our favorite restaurants in Cabo! It is a beautiful farm-to-table restaurant located on a mango farm where they grow many other fruits and veggies that make their way into the dishes on the menu! It’s a beautiful place to take photos among the palm tree walkways and giant agave plants! We have only been for lunch but have heard dinner is amazing too!
Flora Farms: We actually didn’t get to eat at this restaurant so I can’t speak from personal experience, but we heard Flora Farms is a must-see place! It is suppose to be a similar farm-to-table concept like Acre with a beautiful setting for photos! Make sure you have a reservation far in advance because we were too late an unable to get a table!
Toro: We ate at Toro on our first night in Cabo! Our hotel recommended it for the food and it did not disappoint! I had fish tacos and all the seafood I had in Mexico was just the best! I was very happy about the gluten free chocolate cake :) We sat outside on the patio where we had a beautiful view of cactus plants and the ocean off in the distance!
Arbol: Just WOW. This was our last dinner in Cabo and we definitely saved the best for last! This restaurant is an Asian/Indian fusion restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing! I had shrimp curry and Omar had curried lamb chops! We were so impressed with the food! The ambiance was incredible with trees filled with lanterns lining the restaurant! (Arbol is “tree” in Spanish! ) It was such an upbeat and romantic setting.
Nido: Nido means “nest” in Spanish! It is the restaurant at The Viceroy hotel that is shaped like a cage of branches and it is absolutely beautiful. They are known for their ceviche which was delicious!
Sunset Monalisa: We ate at this restaurant last time we were in Cabo, but were too late on booking a reservation this time so definitely book this restaurant before you even leave for your vacation! I tried to book it 4 days in advance and all the tables with the best views were already taken. This restaurant is extremely popular because it has a beautiful view of the sunset (hence the name) and is perfect for a romantic dinner!

What to Do:
Take a Sailing Tour: Sailing is very popular in Cabo! Last time we visited, we did a private day sailing tour which included snorkeling which was really fun! This time we weren’t in the mood to snorkel and we did a private sunset tour and it was so relaxing and beautiful! Doing some kind of boat tour is a must so you can see the famous rock arch “El Arco” or “Land’s End”, which makes the very tip of Baja California. We used Cabo Sailing both times and would highly recommend!
ATV off roading: This was a really fun experience if you feel like getting out and being adventurous! You ride an ATV through the Cabo desert and make your way down to the beach for lunch! It was such a beautiful drive through dirt roads lined by HUGE cactus plants and beautiful views of the mountains! Definitely make sure to wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty and wet in! I wore tennis shoes and wished I had worn sandals because my shoes got completely soaked and I was freezing! I would actually bring a towel with me and leave it on the bus so that you can wrap up on your way back because I was miserably cold! The ATVs have a cover on top and seatbelts and you wear a helmet so I felt very safe! We went with Cabo Adventures and would recommend! This is a group tour!
Spa: One of my favorite parts of vacation is having a spa day! We had an amazing treatment at The One and Only Palmilla and I would recommend if you really want to splurge! Although it was heavenly and such a luxurious experience, I can’t believe I spent that much money on a couples massage! Next time I want to try out the spa at the Viceroy because it seemed amazing as well!
