Salam girls!!
We spent one of our days in Cancun without leaving the resort. We ate the most amazing breakfast (seriously the biggest buffet ever with so many healthy options!), changed, and headed straight to the beach. One of my favorite parts of vacation is always playing in the ocean. I absolutely LOVE the beach. I love swimming and I am not the type of girl who won’t get my hair wet. ;) We also had spa treatments this day and I needed a modest swim suit for the hydrotherapy (my favorite part). There were so many reasons why it was so important for me to find something to swim in that was practical and looked cute! I will list tips for shopping for your hijabi swim suit and links to my outfit details at the bottom of this post! :)
What I’m Wearing:
Maxi Aztec Cardigan: c/o Kabayare Fashion | Swim top: Nordstrom (other modest swim tops here , here and here ALL HAVE LOTS OF COLOR OPTIONS!) | Swim Leggings: Coolibar (comes in lots of colors), similar here | Swim Hijab: It’s two piece/Al-Amira hijab (not sure where it’s from bc it’s so old!) Just make sure it contains lycra or nylon with no cotton or jersey. I found some here | White Kimono: Forever 21/sold out, similar here and love this one!) | Gold Flip Flops: Similar here | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Hat: similar here and here | Beach Bag: Nordstrom
TIPS FOR SHOPPING FOR MODEST SWIMWEAR:
1. Try the search term “long sleeved swim dress”, rash guards are long sleeved, but are usually short and don’t cover your bottom. Check Coolibar and Nordstrom, they had the cutest ones I could find!
2. Make sure the material is swim appropriate. The fabric should be made of nylon, spandex, lycra or polyester. It should not contain cotton or jersey! This will make sure that it dries really fast and that it does not feel uncomfortable and clingy after swimming. This goes for your hijab and under scarf too! I’ve also heard chiffon dries quickly but I have never tried it. :)
3. Size up in your leggings. Even if they cling a little bit after getting out of the water, they dry super fast if they are made out of the right material and will be more modest when dry.
I hope this was helpful to you!
XOXO, Leena
